Complete Setup Guide

Before You Start – Sign Up for Hostinger

You need a Hostinger hosting account before installing WordPress. The Premium plan at $2.99/mo is ideal — it includes one-click WordPress installation, a free domain, free SSL, and can host 3 websites.

Step 1 – Install WordPress on Hostinger

1. Login to hpanel.hostinger.com
2. Click Websites in the left sidebar
3. Click Add Website
4. Select WordPress as your platform
5. Select your domain from the dropdown
6. Set your WordPress admin username and password — save these
7. Click Install — WordPress installs in 1-2 minutes
8. Click Edit Website to open your WordPress dashboard

Step 2 – Essential WordPress Settings

After installation, configure these settings first:

• Settings → General — set your site title and tagline
• Settings → Reading — choose static homepage or blog posts on front page
• Settings → Permalinks — select Post Name for SEO-friendly URLs (/your-post-title/)
• Settings → Discussion — configure comment settings

Step 3 – Install a Fast Theme

Go to Appearance → Themes → Add New. Search for and install one of these free fast themes:

• Astra — most popular, fastest loading, highly customizable
• GeneratePress — lightest theme available, excellent SEO
• Kadence — beautiful designs, great free starter templates

After installing: click Activate → then Customize to set colors, fonts, and layout.

Step 4 – Install Essential Plugins

Go to Plugins → Add New and install these:

1. Yoast SEO — optimize every page for Google
2. LiteSpeed Cache — maximum speed on Hostinger servers
3. UpdraftPlus — automatic backups
4. Akismet — spam protection
5. Contact Form 7 — contact form for your Contact page

Step 5 – Create Key Pages

Go to Pages → Add New and create these essential pages:

• Home — your main landing page
• About — who you are and what your site is about
• Contact — contact form and your details
• Privacy Policy — required for AdSense and GDPR
• Disclaimer — affiliate disclosure

Step 6 – Write Your First Blog Post

Go to Posts → Add New. Give your post a clear title with your target keyword. Write your content using the block editor. Add a featured image. In Yoast SEO panel — set your focus keyword, SEO title, and meta description. Click Publish.

Step 7 – Submit to Google Search Console

After publishing 5+ posts: go to search.google.com/search-console → Add your site → Verify → Submit your sitemap (yoursite.com/sitemap.xml). Google will begin crawling and indexing your content.
